MY NAME IS SARAH, AND I HAVE A 5 YR. OLD SON WITH X-LINKED HED. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE WANTING TO HAVE ANOTHER CHILD, BUT INTERESTED TO KNOW IF THERE IS ACTUALLY A CURE FOR XHED, I KNOW THEY WERE CLOSE AND HAD ACTUALLY FOUND ONE FOR MICE CARRYING XHED. JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE WAS UP TO DATE ON THE RESEARCH.... THANK YOU

There is an article about this on the old ED website.
My understanding is that this involves injecting the mice feotus with a type of protein during pregnancy.
In view of the above, this is unlikely to be of any benefit for anyone currently suffering from the condition.
In addition, I think it will be sometime before we have sufficient research to give mother's to be the confident to even consider this 'treatment' for their unborn children.
Despite the above, any progress should be considered good news and may lead to a future 'cure'.

So maybe more of a 'preventative' in unborn babies, than a cure?
